Mental Health Awareness: A Guide for Businesses
At Fieldskill, we believe that people matter. Whether that is our customers or our colleagues, or the community around us, we want to ensure a happy and healthy working environment where everyone is able to thrive. That's why we recently completed the Adult Mental Health Half Day Course from MHFA England.
The course taught us about the importance of mental health, the different types of mental health conditions, and how to support someone who is struggling. We also learned about the stigma associated with mental health and how to challenge it.
Mental health stigma is a major problem, it can prevent people from getting the help they need, and can also lead to discrimination and isolation.
There are many reasons why people are afraid to talk about mental health. They may be afraid of being judged, of being labelled, or of losing their job.
We need to break down the stigma of mental health. We need to talk about mental health openly and honestly. We need to let people know that it's okay to ask for help.
If you know someone who is struggling with mental health issues, there are things you can do to help.
- Listen to them. Let them know that you care and that you are there for them.
- Don't judge them. Mental health conditions are not a choice.
- Encourage them to seek professional help.
- Be patient. It takes time to recover from mental health issues.
If you are struggling with mental health issues, please know that you are not alone. There are people who care about you and want to help. Please reach out for help. There are many resources available to you.
We all have mental health. We need to work together to break down the stigma of mental health and create a world where everyone can thrive.
